Rainfresh Air Technology/Terminology
Titanium Dioxide (TiO2)
TiO2 is the latest technology and is extremely effective at deodorization and
sterilization. TiO2 is a photo catalyst that reacts with UV light to produce
free radicals that seek out and destroy pollutants. These TiO2 radicals
actively attack pollutants, destroy them and then dissipate to leave no trace.
TiO2 technology is one of the most efficient ways to eliminate odors,
allergens, bacteria and viruses. It is also the most efficient at neutralizing
fumes and vapors such as smoke, paint smell and cooking odors.
Negative Ions
Negative Ions are electrically charged particles that attach themselves to
positively charged particles, acting like a magnet. Airborne particles such as
pollen, dust, bacteria, pet dander and smoke have positive charges. Negative
ions cause these pollutants to combine until they are too heavy and fall out of
the air. This purifies the air that we breathe. Particulate matter is best
handled with negative ion technology. Dirt, dust and larger pollen is
efficiently collected and dropped out of the air. Negative Ions are nature’s
air cleaners and are created naturally in the outdoor world. Plants,
thunderstorms, rain & wind actions, waterfalls, and sunlight all create
negative ions everyday. This is one of the reasons that fresh air smells and
feels fresh!
Ozone
Ozone is 3 oxygen atoms joined together to form one molecule. Normal oxygen is
2 oxygen atoms combined to form one molecule. Ozone is naturally occurring in
our atmosphere and is one of the main elements that helps to protect us from
the suns radiation. Ozone is very proficient in eliminating odors. It’s one of
the best sanitizers and deodorizers available anywhere. Ozone is extremely
reactive and aggressively attacks any pollutant that is comes in contact with.
Ozone is excellent at killing bacteria, many viruses, mold, mildew and most
allergens. It is also one of the most effective way to eliminate gas pollutants
such as smoke. The Environmental Protection Agency sets strict maximum
recommended levels of Ozone production to safeguard your health. In large
levels ozone can be dangerous to your health. Used properly, Rain Fresh Air air
cleaners are safe. Remember that too much of anything is not good for you,
however, taken in moderation the same thing is perfectly safe.
Ultraviolet (UV)
UV is invisible light that is produced by a specially designed light bulb.
While UV light from the sun can cause sunburn on people the special frequencies
of light produced by our machine are extremely effective at disinfection and
purification. UV is an excellent way to kill bacteria, viruses & mildew
spores. It can be harmful to your eyes and skin.
HEPA Filtering
Inexpensive initially but replacement filters are required for long term use.
The best way to trap and capture dust, dander, mold spores and other airborne
irritants. Air must pass through the filter to be cleaned. Can be combined with
a charcoal layer for very effective odor elimination.
Electronic
Uses charged metal plates to attract particulate matter as it passes by. Range
from inexpensive to very expensive. Not as effective on gasses and odors.
Requires a fan since it only cleans the air that passes through the machine. No
filters to change, but still requires routine cleaning.
